What is Emmto?
Emmto is a digital application that facilitates engagement with those impacted by memory and communication challenges. It can be used on tablets, phones and personal computers.
Key features
Profiles
Emmto uses profiles to organise information about the person with memory challenges.
A profile is a collection of information about the person gathered through conversation with those who know them best. Information can include Likes/Dislikes, Special events, Favourite things, or any other information that is important in the lives of the person.
Emmto uses this profile information to generate an initial template of memories (which we call Moments) such as My Early Days, My Family, My Favorite Things and more.
Each profile is a systematic way to organize the most important moments of your life.
Moments
Memories are brought to life by adding audio or text to create moments in time that matter.
You can either take a photograph or download one from your library. These can easily be enriched by simply selecting the text button to type either a description of the image or a memorable phrase associated with it. Similarly words or music can be recorded by clicking on the record icon.
Player
Viewing memories is simple.
With Emmto, you can play one or many Moments in a really simple to use player, designed with the person with dementia in mind.
We have drawn on existing extensive research and our own experiences to back up all the design decisions.
Understanding the complex issues around cognitive ability has informed the colours, fonts and layout used and the development of a simplistic user interface that does not distract attention when using the digital application.
Extra features
Session recording
For healthcare organizations, Emmto keeps a record of each session.
Support staff can quickly and easily add notes and evaluate the sessions.
